World-Class Arabian Horses Take Over Scottsdale

Saddle Up: Arabian Horse Show Returns to WestWorld

One of Scottsdale's most beloved winter traditions gallops back into town this month. The 71st Annual Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show runs February 12-22 at WestWorld, transforming the venue into the Arabian horse capital of the world for eleven spectacular days.

What began in 1955 at the Arizona Biltmore with just 50 horses has grown into a prestigious international event drawing nearly 2,000 horses and competitors from across the globe. Owners, breeders, and trainers compete for more than one million dollars in prize money, making a win at Scottsdale mean serious business in the breeding world.

Beyond the arena action, the Shopping Expo alone is worth the trip. More than 200 vendors offer everything from Western wear and fine art to equestrian gear and unique gifts you won't find anywhere else. International food options keep visitors fueled while exploring the sprawling grounds.

New this year, the show introduces the West Coast Sport Horse Championships, adding elevated recognition to the fast-growing Sport Horse division. The upgraded free live stream also makes it easier than ever for friends and family worldwide to tune in.

Valley residents looking to experience the show without breaking the bank have several options. Military Appreciation Day on February 17 offers free admission for service members and their families. Free Family Fun Night kicks off at 4:30 p.m. on February 20, and Saturday evening, February 21, becomes completely free after 3:45 p.m.

Gates open daily at 8 a.m. with competitions running until around 10 p.m. General admission runs fifteen dollars, and parking is free. WestWorld is located at 16601 N. Pima Road in Scottsdale.

Whether you're a lifelong equestrian enthusiast or just curious about these magnificent animals, this show delivers an experience unlike anything else in Arizona.
