Scottsdale Stalker Called Bank 1,700 Times

Old Town Stalker Took Obsession to a Whole New Level — Armed With a Slingshot

Most breakups end with awkward grocery store run-ins or a passive-aggressive playlist on Spotify. Jaime Rodriguez allegedly took the post-divorce era in a considerably more destructive direction — and Old Town Scottsdale's Envy Condos paid the price.

Rodriguez, 44, was arrested Tuesday on multiple felony counts after Scottsdale police linked him to a months-long campaign of harassment against his ex-wife that included broken windows, hidden tracking devices, and an almost unbelievable number of phone calls to a bank.

Between May 2025 and January 2026, detectives logged 21 separate incidents of rocks striking or shattering windows on the east side of the Envy Condos complex near Scottsdale Road and Camelback. Because of the height and distance involved, investigators believe Rodriguez was using a slingshot to launch the rocks — apparently targeting the unit belonging to the man his ex-wife was dating. The damage has climbed to roughly $97,000, and as of now, only five of the shattered windows have been replaced. Condo management says residents on that side of the building have been living in fear.

The property damage was just one piece of a deeply troubling pattern. Police say Rodriguez called Bank of America more than 1,700 times — reportedly in an effort to track his ex-wife's spending and pinpoint her location. Her father also discovered an Apple AirTag hidden under the hood of her car, another layer of surveillance she never consented to. The victim told authorities she fears for her life.

Detectives placed their own GPS tracker on Rodriguez's vehicle in January and began surveillance. He was first arrested on Valentine's Day — fitting, if darkly so — after officers watched him hop a wall near a patio across the street from the complex. He now faces four counts of stalking and four counts of endangerment and is due back in court later this month.
