Free Carnival Rides Coming to Downtown Mesa
Mesa Is Throwing a Free Spring Party and You're Invited
Spring in the Valley is basically a sport, and Mesa is playing offense on April 11. Celebrate Mesa returns to Pioneer Park for a free, all-ages Spring Fling that runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. right in the heart of downtown at 526 E. Main St.
This city-hosted bash is the kind of event where you show up for the free carnival rides and bounce houses and end up staying three hours because your kid has made friends with a goat. The petting zoo is back, along with face painting, a Tot Spot for the little ones, a splash pad and water wall, and the always-popular Living Green Village with Earth Day programming woven in for good measure.
Live music comes courtesy of Guitarras Latinas performing on the main stage, which means the vibes are firmly in festive territory. Families can also explore Read On Mesa's Literacy Lane, featuring story time with special guests and a showcase of free reading resources available throughout the community. Mesa on Wheels vehicles and displays round out the experience for anyone who just wants to wander and soak it all in.
One of the best details: grab a passport at the Info Booth, hit the event map destinations, collect stamps, and turn it in for a chance to win raffle prizes. Basically a treasure hunt with a side of carnival rides.
Disney fans take note: Tinkerbell, Belle, and Moana are scheduled to make appearances. Cue the screaming toddlers.
There is no admission charge, and sponsors including SRP, Google Fiber, and AARP Arizona are helping make it happen. Volunteer spots are still open for anyone 16 and older.
